Veuve Clicquot Vintage Brut 2015: This champagne stands out for its elegance, tension, and energy. The first impression is of its tension, verticality, and minerality, after which the wine unfolds its flavors. It’s made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier and has notes of ageing like brioche, toast, and almond.
Vigna La Rosa Barolo FontanaFredda: This wine is characterized by its red berries, violet, liquorice, orange peel, and smoky wood notes in depth. It’s a telltale of Serralunga Barolo. The full-bodied palate features juicy Marasca cherry, strawberry compote, and star anise alongside youthfully tight, fine-grained tannins.
Chateau de Beaucastle Chateauneuf-du-pape: This is a classic Châteauneuf-Du-Pape, medium-plus-bodied with meaty, wild herbs, earthy mushroom, and pepper-spice flavors on the palate. It’s easy to love, but youthful and could easily spend three more years in the cellar to start showing its best.
Domaine de Chevalier 2020 Pessac-Leognan: This wine is bold, pure, concentrated, and balanced on the palate with remarkable length. It has a beautiful structure with very satisfactory acidity which counterbalances the sensation of smoothness and fullness from being raised in oak.
Mosel 2022 Scharzhof Riesling: This is a lip-smacking Riesling from Egon Müller. The 2022 vintage is produced with grapes from the Mosel region in Germany. Its mineral undertones and citrus notes make it a rather tasty pairing with delicate shellfish dishes or sushi.
Chablis Premier Cru Les Vaillons: This Premier Cru offers remarkable aromatic complexity with aromas of ripe citrus and white flowers. The palate is round and seductive with a lively attack. Excellent length and a refined aromatic persistence combining fruity notes and a delicate acidity.
Chassagne-Montrachet 2021 1er Cru: This wine has a brilliant light-yellow color. The nose brings aromas of toasted bread and hazelnut. The palate is round and ample, offering stone fruits and roasting notes. The finish is intense and long.
Beaune Greves Premir Cru 2021: This wine starts out sleek, evoking macerated cherry, berry, mineral, and tobacco flavors. The dense tannins exert themselves on the finish, which is long and complex. Fine balance, but this needs time.
Quinta da Devesa Porto Vintage 2018: This Port includes old vines in a field blend. It is richly perfumed, with the proper firm tannins at its core. Surrounding this are full, jammy black fruits that balance the dryness of the tannins and rich, black-currant-jelly flavors.
